Adequacy certificate FAQs

What is an ETP/STP adequacy certificate?
It is a certified assessment confirming that your treatment plant is adequately designed and sized to treat the actual pollution load and consistently meet the prescribed discharge or emission norms. It is prepared after measuring the real load and reviewing each treatment unit.
When do I need an adequacy report?
Commonly for GPCB consent (CTE/CTO) and renewals, when expanding or enhancing production, for CETP membership, and when banks or financial institutions require proof that your pollution-control systems are adequate.
What happens if my plant is found inadequate?
We identify the specific units that are under-capacity and provide clear augmentation recommendations — additional capacity, unit upgrades or process changes — so you can bring the system up to the required standard.
Do you test the effluent as part of the assessment?
Yes. We characterise the influent, effluent and emissions in our NABL-accredited laboratory so the adequacy call is based on your plant's real, measured load — not assumptions.
Can you also upgrade the ETP if it's inadequate?
